Alpha-gal Syndrome Clinical Advisory

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) has made Alpha-gal Syndrome (AGS) reportable to DPH through the Commissioner’s authority as of April 1, 2026. Please review the detailed AGS clinical advisory. Healthcare providers are required to report any new diagnoses of AGS in patients using the online case report form on the DPH website. Electronic laboratory reporting has been enabled for AGS.

Information and guidance on AGS will be presented on the April 7, 2026, Local Health Webinar series. This will be followed by a comprehensive AGS MAVEN training on April 14, 2026.
