Anticoagulant Rodenticides: Comment Period Extended
The Massachusetts Pesticide Board is seeking additional comments from local public health officials on the continued use of anticoagulant rodenticides in pest control operations. Anticoagulant rodenticides are used by integrated pest management professionals to remediate rodent infestations in homes, warehouses, and food establishments, and work to kill rodents by causing internal hemorrhaging, with the toxic effect taking days to work. Other means of pest control include mechanical traps and chemical killing agents.

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources is interested in hearing how affected parties feel about whether to support or discourage the use of the anticoagulants here in the state. The comment period has been extended, so please submit comments to Taryn LaScola (Taryn.LaScola@mass.gov) as soon as possible
