MRCA Announces *NEW* Hot Air and Induction Welding Safety Training
The Midwest Roofing Contractors Association is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Hot Air and Induction Welding Safety Training Course for roof system installers! This important safety training will launch on November 10 in conjunction with the MRCA”s 71st Annual Conference and Expo in Milwaukee, WI. Go to www.mrca.org to learn more or register.
The Midwest Roofing Contractors Association is committed to building a culture of safety across the roofing industry and our objective is to provide members the information, training, and tools necessary to implement best practices in safety.
The new Hot Air and Induction Welding Safety Training teaches the methods for identifying and controlling the hazards that workers face during the installation of roofing systems using electrically powered equipment.
Each MRCA Hot Air and Induction Welding Safety Training graduate will have passed a written exam and demonstrated the hands-on knowledge of the safe handling of generating and welding equipment.
Each graduate successfully completing the Hot Air and Induction Welding Safety Training will have proven that the worker has been trained to a higher standard and can be an "Authorized User" of hot air and induction welding equipment.
This program will include a review of hazard recognition and controls, first aid for some of the most common injuries, PPE requirements, Fall and Fire Prevention and basic hazardous materials management. This portion of the training is intended to serve as a "refresher" for the people who have already have awareness training and an introduction to these subjects for those who have not.
We all know that working in the roofing industry can be hazardous. All roof workers—whether they are working on the job site, in the yard and in the shop face daily challenges to their safety. This training program is specifically designed to help roof workers understand the nature of the hazards and how to best control the risks when working with Hot Air and Induction Welding equipment.
