| Description | 828 News Now is looking for a reporter. A visual journalist who creates content collaborating with advertising, broadcast and digital teams to ensure that the site meets both audience and business model needs. Content Oversight - Use sound, ethical news judgement to make editorial decisions. - Use digital tools. - Edit content for publication. - Represent 828 NewsNow to the community, on phone, in public and on social media. - Schedule content to social media. - Stay on-call 24/7 for breaking local news. - Create content for daily emailed newsletter. - Create and send push alerts and text blasts. - Update Top Stories module for .com and app. Collaborating with teams - Write advertorial and sponsored content. - Identify (and email) daily list of top stories for morning news broadcast. Full-time position 828NewsNow is looking for an experienced, driven, digital-savvy journalism leader for the local news site 828newsnow.com. The ideal candidate will have: - A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field. - Three or more years of journalism experience. - Top-notch writing and editing ability. - Effective working in a collaborative, supportive environment. - Experience with digital content management systems. - Active engagement in social media platforms. - The ability to learn and adapt quickly to emerging technologies.
