Updated Resources Available for Providers Receiving CARES Act PRF Payments

Article Source: American Association for Homecare Insider

HHS continues to add resources and update information for providers that received payments from the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund (PRF).

In the most recent update of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, HHS for the first time announced that an appeals process is in the works for providers who have issues or questions with their payment amounts.

How do I appeal or dispute a decision made? (Added 7/15/2021)
HHS recognizes that providers may have questions regarding the accuracy of their PRF payments. HHS is developing a structured reconsiderations process to review and reconsider payment accuracy based on submitted supporting documentation. Details regarding this process will be provided in coming weeks.

This is a change from HHS’ previous statement that all decisions are final. AAHomecare will be monitoring this development. We recommend members to continue to check the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund FAQ.

HHS also continues to update the PRF Reporting and Auditing website with resources for payment recipients. HHS has now hosted three webinars this month for recipients that received $10,000 or more in aggregate between April-June 2020 who are required to submit a report through the PRF Reporting Portal. The July 8th webinar recording is available on the website, and HHS is expected to publish the recording of the July 14th and July 20th webinars soon.

The two most recent webinars are especially helpful in better understanding the reporting requirements. AAHomecare encourages members who are required to submit a report to watch the webinars.
