CRT Advocates Seeking Support on Congressional Sign-On Letter

Deadline Extended to Oct. 5

NCART is working on a Congressional sign-on letter to gain support for a letter to CMS regarding the formal request for Medicare coverage of Power Seat Elevation and Standing Systems. NCART reported this morning that they are up to 43 signers, with good bipartisan support (24 Ds and 19 Rs). See the signer list organized by state here

There are currently two from Ohio thanks to the efforts of OAMES/NCART member Miller's Rental & Sales:  Rep. Anthony Gonzalez and Rep. Bob Gibbs.

The letter is spearheaded by Rep. Langevin and Rep. Young who have extended the deadline for Congressional representatives to sign on to next Tuesday, October 5. They know many offices are reviewing the letter, but Congress has been busy this week on other pressing legislation. This extension gives offices more time to review and gives us several more days to get your Representatives to sign on.

NCART is asking providers to can either email Representatives directly (if you have been in contact) or use the link at www.protectmymobility.org to share this update and reinforce your request for them to sign on. Your message can include these simple points:

  • The sign-on deadline for the CRT House letter to CMS regarding Medicare coverage of Power Seat Elevation and Standing Systems has been extended to Tuesday October 5.
  • Support access for people with disabilities and add your name to the letter to CMS by contacting the offices of Reps. Langevin or Young.

Please take quick action, make your contact today and do your follow-up! Your personal outreach will help get even more Representatives signed on by next Tuesday so we can send a strong CRT message of Congressional support to CMS.
