Final Push to Gain Support for Oxygen Medical Necessity Congressional Sign-On Letter

Deadline Extended Until Wed, August 3

Action needed today!  Time is running out to get US House legislators signed on to the Congressional letter to CMS being led by Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) and Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) asking that CMS streamline medical necessity documentation to protect patient access for home oxygen therapy.  Act now!  Let’s not miss this opportunity!

Call to action!

  • Please contact your US House legislator and request that they sign on to the letter. This supports the respiratory community letter sent to CMS last fall from major patient, pulmonary physician, respiratory therapist, provider, and manufacturer organizations.
  • Remember to copy Kam Yuricich at OAMES on your emails to legislator(s) and she will reinforce your “ask” on behalf of the association.
  • Click here for full details and contact information if you need any assistance.
  • If you need help identifying your Member of Congress or their health legislative staff, please email Gordon at AAHomecare at gordonb@aahomecare.org. You can also reach out to the AAH/VGM Grassroots Accountability Project team (Ashley and Emily) here!

The deadline for Congressional signatures is this Friday, July 29, so we need you to reach out to your legislators NOW to give them time to act!  Contact OAMES executive director Kam Yuricich if you have any questions about the message or outreach.
