Medicare DME Bidding Round 1 Recompete Registration Now Open

Today CMS opened registration for the Round 1 Recompete. All HME providers interested in submitting a bid for this round must register-previous round registrations will not be valid.

To begin the process, designate one person listed as an authorized official (AO) on your organization's CMS-855S enrollment form in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) to act as your AO for registration purposes. The AO must be the first person in the organization to register in the Individuals Authorized Access to the CMS Computer Services system. AOs should register no later than September 7, 2012.

After an AO successfully registers, other people listed as authorized officials on your organization's CMS-855S may register as backup authorized officials (BAOs), and people not listed as authorized officials on the CMS-855S may register to serve as end users (EUs). The AO must approve a BAO's request to register. Either the AO or a BAO must approve an EU's request to register.

Registration closes on October 19 at 9pm ET. No one will be allowed to register after that time.
