In 2009, Bakare was named one of the “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” by CableFAX Magazine.

In community service, Bakare, who holds graduate degrees from the University of Maryland and the University of Lagos and an undergraduate degree from Lagos State University, serves as the board vice president for Starr Commonwealth Columbus (formerly known as the Hannah Neil Center).

He also serves as a volunteer on the marketing committee of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio and as a volunteer with The Ohio State University’s Todd A.
