Letter from the Conference Planners

Have you registered for the 2021 SAVIR meeting? We’re weeks away and the host and conference committees are looking forward to welcoming you to our virtual conference. Thanks to our members and colleagues, we have an impressive line-up of scientific presentations, interactive learning sessions, and posters where you’ll be able to chat with presenters, explore new collaborations, and expand your networks. The program is interspersed with opportunities to engage with luminaries in our field and thought leaders from other disciplines who are influencing our world around some of the most pressing issues of the day, including race, climate change, equity, cutting edge research methods, and strategies for assuring science is influencing injury prevention policy and practice.

In the tradition of SAVIR meetings, we also have social events and networking opportunities built into the agenda. One of our favorite qualities of the injury field is all of you. We really are a community that enjoys spending time together, and we will do that at SAVIR 2021. As you’re reviewing the agenda and planning your week, be sure to reserve time on your calendars to participate in the interactive events so you can catch up with old friends and meet new colleagues. With this conference, SAVIR is going global, so we can guarantee there will be new people for you to meet, and many new things to learn.

Even though we are not gathering in Baltimore, we’ve identified some creative ways to provide you with a sense of the people and culture of our great city. For those of you who have never been to Baltimore, we hope this meeting will entice you to visit when it is safe. For those who know our city, we look forward to welcoming you back. We’ll see you in April!
