Osteopathic medicine in Ohio is a complete health-care education and delivery system consisting of 4,619 licensed physicians (DOs), 18 health-care facilities accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, and the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.
DOs represent 11 percent of the total physicians practicing in Ohio and 26 percent of the state's family physicians.
