High School Leadership Event: Something More
Good Shepherd, Cincinnati
Do you know a high schooler who is looking for something more when it comes to leadership in your congregation and the church? Something More is a program where 9th-12th grade students will learn ministry skills that will help them grow in following Jesus and leading their peers through hands-on, practical, age-appropriate ways.
Students from across the Southern Ohio Synod mission territory are invited to come and receive investment, be equipped, and be sent into the world. Our 2015-2016 schedule of equipping events is as follows:
- "UP" Skills Overnight: Prayer, Worship, and Study - December 11-12, 2015, 7:00pm - 1:00pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Centerville
- "IN" Skills Workshop: Community Building, Encouragement, and Group Leadership - February 20, 2016, 10:00am - 4:00pm at Good Shepherd, Cincinnati
- "OUT" Skills Retreat: Advocacy, Service, and Invitation - April 1-2, 2016, at King's Domain
Students should be recommended for Something More by their pastor or congregational youth leader, and there is a limit of 4 students per congregation per event. You may send the same students to all three events, or send different students to each event based on their interests and gifting.
