Interested in creating a Military/Veteran Ministry? Please join us for a no-cost half-day civilian clergy workshop on April 23 in Columbus

On behalf of Major General Mark E. Bartman, the Ohio National Guard
Interim Adjutant General, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Chalmers
P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center medical staff, we invite civilian clergy to
attend a training workshop on April 23, 2015.

Please feel free to share this invitation with clergy colleagues.

As you know, our country has sent thousands of troops to these war zones
since September 11, 2001. Many have been activated multiple times, putting
a significant strain on the family's mental, physical and spiritual health.
Many of these Veterans live in your area and some may be members of your
faith community.

We invite formal and informal civilian faith leaders to attend this
workshop titled "How to Care for Returning Veterans through Veterans'
Ministries" from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Christ Cathedral Church,
3350 Allegheny Avenue in Columbus, Ohio 43209.

The goals of this training are to:
1. Provide an overview about struggles some Veterans face to help you
recognize signs and symptoms of concern.
2. Understand strategies for creating a Veteran's ministry within your
faith community.
3. Meet civilian clergy who already support Veterans and have dialogue
with speakers.
4. Learn how to get involved in the Ohio National Guard's Clergy Working
Group.

We hope you will attend and share your experiences to ensure, that
together, we provide the support these military families and Veterans need.
They have sacrificed so much on behalf of our state and nation.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP no later the Monday, April 13,
2015 by returning the attached completed registration sheet. Don't wait -
send it in now; space is limited.

We hope you can join us for an exciting morning of learning and dialogue.
