SOS Looking for People Trained in CISM for New Ministry
The Southern Ohio Synod Disaster Response and Mental Wellness and Recovery Task Forces are working together to support a new ministry in our synod called the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) ministry.
CISM is a comprehensive, integrative, multicomponent crisis intervention system because it consists of multiple crisis intervention components, which functionally span the entire temporal spectrum of crisis.
Why do we want to start such a ministry? As crises and disasters become epidemic, the need for effective crisis response capabilities increases. CISM represents a powerful, yet cost-effective approach to crisis response.
If you have been trained in CISM and would like to be part of this new ministry in the Southern Ohio Synod, please contact Pr. Mike Poole at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Look for more information about CISM in the upcoming 'Fearfully and Wonderfully Made' newsletter from the Mental Wellness and Recovery Task Force.
