We are currently in the midst of transitioning to a new website and database portal, designed to enhance the way we serve you. This new system is currently in its testing phase, and I am thrilled about the improvements it promises to bring.

Announcement Regarding Professional Liability Insurance
After a thorough evaluation of the needs of our community and the resources at our disposal, the ADAA Board has made a significant decision regarding our professional liability insurance offering. Our analysis shows that approximately 60% of our members already have coverage through other sources. This includes students and educators insured by their institutions, Air Force personnel covered through military services, and those who are retired or not currently practicing. As a result, a large portion of our members do not require malpractice insurance through ADAA.

We are approaching a time of celebration and giving. As I reflect on the past year, I am thankful for family, friends, and my profession. Dental Assisting has brought many joys, achievements, friendships, and pride in my chosen profession. I think about the new dental assistant just starting their career and remember the excitement I felt. I had guidance from my office and established friendships and mentors through ADAA. We are the mentors to the next generation of dental assistants.

How exciting it is to be a part of ADAA, Juliette Southard’s dream which was developed over 100 years ago, just celebrated its 99th annual session. I am honored and excited to embark on my term as ADAA President representing the oldest and largest professional association dedicated to the dental assisting profession. My goal is to focus on the foundational elements of this organization - membership and education. We have an opportunity to reimagine a healthier, stronger ADAA. It only takes a spark to get a fire going, but as you add more wood, you become a bonfire. That is what we are building today.
