Phillips Companies Celebrates 80th Anniversary
On Sunday, July 17 close to 200 employees of Phillips Companies and their families gathered to enjoy the rides, entertainment and a picnic lunch at Kings Island to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Phillips Companies.
Phillips Companies is a leading supplier of aggregates, truck delivery, ready-mix concrete, landscape supplies and civil construction services in the Dayton, Ohio area. Phillips Sand & Gravel, the predecessor to Phillips Companies, was founded in 1942 by Frank Phillips. The company is now owned and operated by his grandsons and great-grandsons. Phillips’ main office is in Beavercreek with mining operations in Xenia and Vandalia and ready mix concrete plants in Beavercreek and Moraine.
Phillips Companies has received numerous awards over the years for its safety record, product quality and excellence in project construction. In December, 2021 Phillips Trucking Department was named “Aggregates Transportation Company of the Year” and “Aggregate Trucker of the Year” for the 3rd consecutive year by the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Mineral Association. Phillips Excavating Department was also recently selected as one of twelve finalists for “Contractor of the Year” in North America by Equipment World magazine. Phillips Companies currently serve over 1,800 customers from 23 states.
