Phil Krouskop - 2011
Perry High School
Phil Krouskop graduated from Perry High School in 1961. His graduation speaker was the legendary Woody Hayes. Philip attended Bluffton College from 1961-1965 and earned degrees in social work and psychology. He played both football and baseball and was fortunate to be part of two Bluffton College Hall of Fame teams.
He attended graduate school at The University of Pittsburgh from 1965-1966 and earned a Master’s Degree in Education. After graduate school, he received a special education degree from Ohio Northern University. Phil began teaching at Perry High School in the fall of 1966. He was an assistant track coach for one year and started coaching baseball in 1968 and continued in that position until the end of 2007. He retired from teaching in 1998. Phil also coached 22 years of basketball at various levels, one year of football and one year of golf.
During his 39 years of coaching baseball, he accumulated 503 wins, 6 league titles, 24 sectional titles, 7 district titles, 4 regional finals, 1 regional championship and a state appearance in 1998. During his tenure, he coached 80 first-team players and several all-state players, including 3 Mizuno All-Stars.
