Dave Koblentz - 1981

Dave Koblentz graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in education. While at Ohio State, Dave pitched two years for Coach Marty Karow's 1958-59 teams. He spent two years in the Pirates and Mets organizations.

Coach Koblentz was the head baseball coach at Columbus West High School for 19 seasons. During this time,the team compiled a 361-128 record which included 7 league championships, 3 district championships, and a state championship in 1975. He was also the head coach at Upper Arlington HS in 1987 with a 28-3 record and a league, district,and state championship.

Dave was head baseball coach at St. Charles in Columbus for one year during which the Cardinals were district runner-up compiling a 20-7 record.His overall record was 409-138 for a 21 year prep coaching career.

Coach Koblentz worked for the Cleveland Indians for six years as a short season pitching coach and scouting supervisor. From 1995-1999, Dave served as the associate head coach at Duke University. In 2001, he was an assistant coach for the Dublin Coffman state champions.

Dave and his wife Lynne have two children, a son Jeff, who resides with his family in California, and a daughter Julie who resides with her family in North Carolina.
