Lou Brunswick - 1975

Coldwater Exempted Village Schools

Lou graduated from St Henry High school in 1948.Tony Lucadello,a scout for the Chicago Cubs signed Lou to a Class D professional baseball contract. After playing professionally for three years he was drafted into the Army.After a tour of duty in Korea he entered The University of Dayton and graduated in 1957.In 1967 he received his Masters Degree from Ball State
University.

His 35 year long career began in 1959 at Coldwater Exempted Village Schools.His high school coaching record stands at 750-166 which is a 82% winning percentage.During his career at Coldwater they went to the State Tournament ten times (1961,1972,1977,1983,1984,1987,1990,1991,1992, and1993).Coldwater won the State in 83,84,87,90, and 92 and were Runner-ups in 1977 and 1991.Coldwater teams have won two Western Buckeye League titles and twenty Midwest Athletic League titles. Coldwater played in 24 District Finals,17 Regional Finals,10 State Tournaments, and earned 2 State Runner-up titles and 5 State Championship titles.

Coach Brunswick has received the National District 4 Coach of the Year Award,Mac Morrison Lifetime Service Award, and the Wally Post ProAm Award for sevice to others through baseball.

Lou and his wife Ann have seven children:Jane Diller, Mary Peitsmeyer,Tom Brunswick, Carol Fisher, Mark Brunswick, Jeff Brunswick, and Amy Shaw.All seven children have a college degree.

Lou is retired and does some scouting for the Minnesota Twins and helps his sons Tom,Mark, and Jeff with their baseball teams.
