Praise Team Leader
Peace Lutheran Church, Beavercreek
Position Description: The Praise Team Leader plans and leads worship at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. This includes but is not limited to 1.) Leading our Saturday worship service, 2.) Implementing the mission and goals of the church as it pertains to worship, 3.) Working with the Pastors and Director of Music in developing worship themes, 4.) Mentoring and training praise team members.
Our musical style is not “anthem rock” (HIllsong, etc.) but more Folk rock or Americana. Songs are a mix of hymns and music from Sandra McCracken, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Paul Baloche and Gaither styled music.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead music at the Saturday Praise service and Christmas Eve Praise service
and supplement the worship team on Sundays at the Celebration service as available
- Recruit, nurture, inspire, and lead a musical team (instrumentalists and singers) to provide a praise atmosphere at worship. This includes regularly scheduled rehearsals.
- Provide music information to the church secretaries for the bulletin by the established deadlines.
- Provide for a substitute music leader for all services and rehearsals that the incumbent cannot attend.
- Assist the Board of Worship in implementing its goals of providing vocal leadership at Saturday worship services and adding new songs to the supplemental hymnal.
- Meet monthly with Senior Pastor and Director of Music
Qualifications:
- A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior preferred.
- A degree in Music is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience in leading a Praise Team
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team
Successful completion of criminal background check at the time of initial hire and every five (5) years thereafter.
