Summary
The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Oakwood OH (suburb of Dayton), is seeking a full-time Director of Children and Youth Ministry.
The DCY will bring energetic, passionate and creative leadership to the congregation’s children and youth ministries. We have a number of new families with children joining LCOS and need someone to oversee high quality programming for our current and future young people.
Basic Responsibilities
- Develop/implement ministries such as Sunday School, VBS and youth activities.
- Coordinate and oversee work with pre-k, elementary, middle, and high school aged youth.
- Collaborate to foster an intergenerational culture at LCOS.
- Work to involve our young people in the worship life and other areas of congregational life.
- Recruit, encourage, and empower members and parents to work in these ministries.
- Communicate with parents and families.
- Support the Pastor in confirmation ministry.
- Carry out administrative tasks and work with staff in a team setting.
- In everything, help LCOS to carry out its mission: To Build Relationships with God, Each Other, and the World.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience and joy in working with children and youth
- An active faith life
- Effective communicator
Compensation
- Full time salaried position.
- Salary negotiable and dependent on education, experience and qualifications.
- Benefits are a possibility.
