Children's Ministry Coordinator-Part Time
Gethsemane Lutheran Church
Gethsemane Lutheran Church is seeking a motivated and talented individual to facilitate and support the church’s children’s ministry programs. Drawing on their strong Christian faith, commitment to the Lutheran Church and supporting the church’s guiding principles, the successful candidate will develop and implement programs for children and young families that encourage spiritual growth and faith development. Current intentions are that this be a 10 hour/ week position focusing on programs for pre-K, elementary, and confirmation age children and their families. Candidates who have interest in joining with the congregation in the larger effort of building a new approach to children’s ministry to meet the needs and interests of young families are encouraged to share their interest and skills with the Church Council in their applications. Salary commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
The requirements for the position include:
- Experience working with youth or adequate post-secondary education.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with word processing software and e-mail platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including excellent written communication skills.
- Self-motivation and flexibility.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with timelines and short deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
- Demonstrated love of young children with the ability to teach through engaging and creative lessons.
