August 5 Event: Bishop Dillahunt invites you to participate in a Lay Eucharistic Minister training and commissioning

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are Stronger and Better Together: Joining Jesus in the Restoration of the World!

Your ministry to the homebound is a vital link between not only your congregation and the homebound member, but also with the greater Church. When you bring communion to those who are unable to physically be present at a worship service, you bring the body and blood of Christ and all that it represents with you. You bring to life the concept of the priesthood of all believers.

To make sure this vital ministry is available to all homebound members of your congregation, the Southern Ohio Synod will host and lead another training and commissioning service for Lay Eucharistic Ministers on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Below are the full details of the event, along with who to let know that you will be coming.

I invite as many members from your congregation who are willing to be a part of a Lay Eucharistic Ministry to join me and members of my team for a very special day of learning, sharing and sending forth in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Date: Saturday, August 5, 2017

Place: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 104 Main Street, Roseville, Ohio 

Time: 10 am until 1 pm with lunch

Cost: $5 to cover lunch (bring money with you the day of the event)

Please note: This event is open to any member of an ELCA congregation in the Southern Ohio Synod Mission Territory. It's intent is to equip members to provide communion to homebound members. Please make sure your pastor knows you plan to participate in this event so he/she is aware and can coordinate future opportunities for you to serve in your congregation's homebound ministry.
