Obituary for The Reverend Fred K. Bernlohr

The Reverend Fred K. Bernlohr went home to the Church Triumphant on Monday, October 16, 2017. He was 95 years old.

Pr. Bernlohr attended Capital University where he attained his Bachelor and Seminary degrees. He also attended Northwestern Midshipman School at Harvard College and Radar School at MIT before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then went on to attain his Masters Degree from Ohio State University.

He was ordained in 1951 and began his first call at Euclid Lutheran Church in Euclid, OH. He also served Emmanuel Lutheran Church, North Hollywood, CA; Christ Lutheran Church, Columbus, OH; and came full circle to Euclid Lutheran Church before he retired in 1987.

Pr. Bernlohr was married to Mary (Bain) Bernlohr and had four children. His eldest son, Tom, is a rostered minister in the Southern Ohio Synod.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 31 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main St, Bexley.  Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the funeral service.  

Visitation will also take place on Monday, October 30, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH.
