A Veterans Day prayer from Bishop Dillahunt and synod staff

Bishop Suzanne Dillahunt and the staff of the Southern Ohio Synod wish to express our gratitude and respect for all of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces in times of war and peace. We are also grateful for the service of those currently serving around the world as part of the U.S. military. For our veterans and active military we offer this prayer from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Prayer Book for the Armed Forces:

Almighty and ever-living God, we give you thanks for the men and women who have served and defended our country and the values of freedom and justice we hold so dear. Help us be mindful of the sacrifices they made and the hardship endured by their families and friends, so that we never take for granted the privileges they have secured for us. Hear us, we pray, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Share the name of a veteran you'd like Bishop Dillahunt and the Southern Ohio Synod staff to pray for at our next staff meeting on our Facebook page or in the comments section below.
