Wrapping up Human Trafficking Awareness Month--Prayer cards and SOAP

Breaking the Chains

The churches are a major part of this effort against modern day slavery. One effort we can all do is to daily say the following prayer written by a Dominican Sister.

Compassionate God, you are ever-present to your children in their times of greatest need.
Draw near, then, to all those who are victims of human trafficking.
Gift them with courage and hope as they struggle to envision freedom and a better future.

For all who work to end this evil practice, we ask for the graces of perseverance, creativity, and strength of purpose. Use our minds, hands, and hearts to do your work, for we are yours.

Prosper the work of our hands, O Lord
Prosper the work of our hands.
-Psalm 90:17

The Dominican Sisters of Peace offer cards with this prayer and an image of bound hands in prayer in quantities of 250 for $35. The cards can be shared so others will pray and be made aware that human trafficking is all around us and is something we can fight against.

Email Kelly Litt at klitt@oppeace.org with the subject 'Human Trafficking Prayer Cards' in the memo field or call the main office at 614.416.1047.
