Obituary for the Rev. Richard Faust

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

 

The Rev. Richard Faust was born on September 29, 1931 and passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

Pr. Faust attended Wittenberg University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953. He then went on to attend seminary at Hamma Divinity School and was ordained in May, 1958. 

His first call was as a mission developer for Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, Ohio. He then became pastor for the Lucas Lutheran Parish and then joined First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Ohio as the associate pastor. He moved to West Carrollton, Ohio in 1972 to serve Grace Lutheran Church as pastor. He retired from Grace Lutheran in 1996. He continued to serve the Southern Ohio Synod for many years as an interim pastor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 470 S. Gebhart Church Rd., Miamisburg. Bishop Suzanne Darcy Dillahunt will preach and The Rev. Dan Fant will preside. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.
