In her August column for Living Lutheran, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, asks, “Is it possible to be Lutheran and an ecumenist?” Yes, of course. For we are “scripturally, confessionally and even constitutionally wired to be an ecumenical church.”

In the Southern Ohio Synod, at the synodical level, we participate in ecumenism is a variety of ways, including Bishop Suzanne Darcy Dillahunt's involvement on the Steering Committee of Christian Churches Together, a national ecumenical organization; membership in the Ohio Council of Churches; and our new combined Southern Ohio Synod/Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati Opioid Task Force.
