Chillicothe Campus:

With Pen in Hand: Letter to the Romans
Instructor: Rev. Walter F. Taylor, Jr.
Dates: February 9, March 9, April 13 & May 11

Course description: For Martin Luther, Paul’s letter to the Romans is “the most important document in the New Testament, the gospel in its purest expression.” The course will work through many passages verse-by-verse while summarizing other portions of the letter, always asking the questions: “What is the center of belief in Jesus?” And, “How does that center impact our daily lives?” Participants will gain deeper understandings of the major Pauline themes of sin, law, gospel, grace, love, justification, reconciliation, faith, baptism, obedience, and new life in the Spirit.  Please note: this course was offered Fall 2018 at Dayton.

Dayton Campus:

From Survivin' to Thrivin'
Instructor: Pastor Katie Kerrigan
Dates: February 16, March 16, April 20, May 18

Course Description: In this course, we will explore how congregations can make the shift from survival mode to being an active, thriving community of faith.  We will be talking about reconnecting with God’s mission, rediscovering the congregation’s purpose in that mission, re-rooting and re-engaging with our communities, and reclaiming evangelism in a Lutheran key.  Please note: this course was offered Winter Spring 2018 at Chillicothe.
