How you can help with recovery efforts in Nashville area after the recent tornados

We had the honor of speaking with Bishop Kevin Strickland on March 10 regarding what our synod could do to help with the recovery efforts in middle Tennessee following the recent tornadoes that destroyed homes, businesses and St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashville. Bishop Strickland said it will most likely be 2 years before St. John's is able to rebuild, so they are not in need of in-kind donations for the congregation. What they need right now, like our friends in the Dayton area needed as they initially assessed and began to recover from the Memorial Day tornadoes, is our prayers and monetary donations. Monetary donations allow the synod's local disaster recovery organization, Inspiritus, to assess what is needed and direct funds where they can be used most.

Please visit the Southeastern Synod's website at ELCA-SES.org to read updates on the tornado recovery and donate.

Thank you for your concern, prayers, and generosity as our sisters and brothers walk this same path our synod did only a few months ago.

We are stronger and better together, in our synod and across the ELCA.
