Special Holy Week/Easter and COVID-19 resources for Rostered Ministers for 4.8.20

Stronger and better together:
Joining Jesus in the restoration of the world!

This is a special leadership resources e-bulletin for you, our rostered ministers & SAMs, to provide you with the information and resources you need to navigate through this unprecedented time. Please know that the Bishop and Synod Staff pray for you whenever we are together (virtually) and in our own personal prayers. You are not alone.

But Jesus spoke to them at once.
“Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
–Matthew 14:27

Easter Vigil 2020 Bishop 3x3

Good Friday and Easter Vigil Services available Thursday, April 9 on synod YouTube Channel

Bishop Dillahunt and the SOS staff just wrapped up recording Good Friday and Easter Vigil services to be shared with the synod on Thursday, April 9 on our YouTube channel. A special thank you to Pr. Aaron Layne and Advent Lutheran Church, Columbus for allowing us to use their space and video equipment.

As you can see, all social distancing requirements were met as the Bishop has encouraged all of you to do.

Please let your congregations know that these two services will be available to them in addition to your services or in lieu of your service if you don't already have one planned.

Look for notice that the videos are up on our YouTube channel via e-news and our social media channels.

A pastoral note to the synod: The practice of Holy Communion while we are apart

In this time of uncertainty, pain, sickness, anxiety, grief and life, I remind you of our Mission in Southern Ohio and the Church…to make sure the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ, is read, heard, shared, invited into and proclaimed. And the vision of this mission territory is Stronger and Better Together…Joining Jesus in the Restoration of the World. We are Church and we are together in a new way.

Coaching Words 3x3

Coaching for Rostered Ministers during these unprecedented times

Pr. Mike Weaver, the Southern Ohio Synod Coaching Coordinator, is offering his coaching services to all SOS rostered ministers who would like some additional guidance as they face new challenges in congregational leadership.

Pr. Mark Nodo has also offered his ear to those in our synod who may need someone to talk to and discuss how the pandemic is affecting them, their family, their congregation, etc. This is not a counseling service, although Pr. Nodo is a licensed counselor, but rather a time to be real with a colleague.

Contact Pr. Mark Nodo at mnodo@sbcglobal.net or on his cell 614.353.5478.

  Lets Talk 3x3
