Urgent! Congregational Employers Must Choose a Plan Option for Employees, Even If They Waive Benefits

Congregational employers have until October 15, 2013 to make a critical decision about which ELCA-Primary health benefits you will offer your employees (everyone under age 65).

The Southern Ohio Synod Bishop's Office and ELCA Church Council encourage you to select the Gold+ plan.

  • The Gold+ option most closely resembles today's ELCA-Primary health benefits, making it the familiar choice in changing times.
  • It offers plan members the most similar deductibles and out-of-pocket costs as in 2013, in effect preserving the total compensation packages (salary plus benefits) being provided today.
  • The next time you call a rostered leader, it may be less complicated if your congregation offers the same option as most other congregations.
