Benedick Named Trinity Lutheran Seminary’s New VP for Operations

Ron BenedickCOLUMBUS, Ohio – Ronald W. Benedick, of Upper Arlington, has been named Vice President for Operations at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus. Benedick comes to Trinity following a 31-year career with Nationwide Retirement Solutions, a subsidiary of Nationwide Financial in Columbus.

Trinity’s President Rick Barger announced Benedick’s appointment following an extensive search.

“Aside from the particular skill and leadership gifts that are critical for this role, Ron has a great love for our church and embraces the mission to which God has called Trinity Lutheran Seminary. He has expressed great passion for the opportunity to share his gifts and leadership experience with Trinity and its mission to form leaders for Christ’s church at work in the world,” said Dr. Barger.

While at Nationwide, Benedick served as Vice President for Business Development, overseeing a staff of 60 licensed professionals, operational budgets, and financial services and products. A Certified Public Accountant, he comes to Trinity with extensive experience in human resources, business development, and change management. In 2007, he formed Benedick Financial Services, LLC, and partnered with Nationwide insurance agents, to help individuals, businesses and organizations execute new retirement plans. As Trinity’s VP for Operations, Benedick will provide leadership in the areas of human resources, fiscal management, and the seminary’s physical resources.  

Benedick is a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Upper Arlington, where he serves as congregational president. He is married to Janet Benedick. He will begin serving at Trinity Lutheran Seminary on January 2.
