Family and friends of Pat Tickner, widow of The Rev. John Tickner, regarding her death

Mrs. Pat Tickner, widow of The Reverend John Tickner, passed away suddenly this past weekend.

The funeral will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Zanesville on Friday, September 5, 2014. Mrs. Tickner's obituary is printed below. Please refer to the obituary for funeral and visitation information.

Patricia Anne Tickner, 71, of Zanesville died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday September 1, 2014. She was born on January 4, 1943 in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania to William L. and Velma Pifer Reiter. Patricia was a graduate of Warren High School in Warren, Pennsylvania and Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania. She married the Rev. John W. Tickner, who preceded her in death.

Patricia was an educator and church musician until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and the former church organist at First Christian Church, both in Zanesville.

She is survived by her mother, a daughter Gwen (Aaron) Carmack of Columbus, a son John (Mozella) Tickner of Erie, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren who were the light of her life: Jacqueline, Jeremy, and James Tickner, and a nephew James Thompson of Toronto, Ontario. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Linda Thompson.

Calling hours will be 6-8pm on Thursday September 4 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE and at 10am on Friday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1330 Pine Street Zanesville, with funeral services at 11 am, Rev. Brian George and Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow in Warren, Pennsylvania at a later date.
