► Event Registrations > Date-Based Activity Pricing Added!

event

When adding checkbox or dropdown controls to a registration form, you now have the option to define date-based pricing.

In the past, it was not possible to adjust prices once registrations had been received.  It was necessary to hide activities in use and add additional lines to the registration form with new prices.  This new feature eliminates that hassle.

When building or modifying a registration form...

Begin by specifying the base price.  This is always required.

Next, specify the first date on which the price will adjust, as well as the new price.  You may add up to four additional price tiers.  Prices adjust at 12:01 a.m. on the date specified for each tier.

As you are building the form, or later adjusting prices, the form preview window reflects the pricing based upon the current date.  (Note that you must save your changes to the prices before the form preview window reflects your changes.)

Price calculations will be based upon the registration's Date Received date.  Thus, if you manually enter a registration, you can control the prices applied by entering the appropriate Date Received date.

It is important to note that if you modify or add a registrant to an existing registration, amounts are -always- calculated on that same Date Received date.

So, for example, if you add a second registrant six weeks after entering the first registrant, the second registrant will get the same prices, because they share the same Date Received date.  If you change the Date Received to the current date, the second registrant will get the current prices.  If you then 'modify' the first registrant, that person will -also- be updated with the current pricing.

Make sense?  If not, we're here to help.  Just give us a call.
