DO Writes Op-Eds Supporting Diabetes Bill

The Athens Messenger published an op-ed written by Jay H. Shubrook, DO, supporting passage of HB 81.  The bill, co-sponsored by State Reps. Barbara Boyd (D-Cleveland) and Randy Gardner (R-Bowling Green), requires certain health care policies, contracts, agreements, and plans to provide benefits for equipment, supplies, and medication for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diabetes and for diabetes self-management education.  Forty-six other states have already passed legislation covering these benefits.
