Starting in 2025, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) must conduct the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) Survey, or face reduced Medicare reimbursement rates in 2027 onward.

California State Board of Pharmacy ASC Update

California Ambulatory Surgery Centers are overseen by the California State Board of Pharmacy (Board) regarding the proper handling of medications which includes securing a Board of Pharmacy Clinic Permit. Debi Mitchell, Senior Licensing Manager, and Janice Dang, PharmD, Supervising Inspector from the Board will be our featured speakers.  This program content will include the requirements for California ASCs regarding clinic permits, including the responsibilities of consulting pharmacists.  Discussed will be the application process and reporting notifications to the Board, as well as identifying common errors which may delay the processing of the application.  Lastly, information will be shared on the results from recent surveys conducted by the Board, including the most common violations.
