About

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Ohio (MCAO) has been engaged in government affairs work and lobbying on behalf of the mechanical contracting industry since the late 1960s. The group has had a number of names and acronyms; LLC for Legislative Liaison Committee, OMCI for the Ohio Mechanical Contracting Industry, and now MCA of Ohio, which reflects their historical affiliation with Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) afiliated associations around the state.  This organization has also expanded to include Sheet Metal Contractors Associations as well.

The primary purpose of MCAO is to promote legislation that will have a beneficial impact to the construction industry as a whole and to organized specialty trade contractors in particular.

The MCAO is governed by a Board of Trustees, each appointed by their respective Member Association. The Trustees oversee the assets and financial matters of the organization. The full Board of Directors is comprised of their Trustee and one additional representative from each Member Association. The Directors set policy, hire consultants, and take positions on legislation, agency matters, and judicial decisions. They also set strategy and PAC fundraising goals for the year.

The MCAO meets three times per year on the second Tuesdays of January, May, and October. All meetings are open to any member of a active or affiliate association.  All contractors who belong to MCAO Member Associations are encouraged to attend whenever they have the opportunity to see firsthand the important work of their state-wide group.

Current Active Association Members of the MCA of Ohio are: Cleveland Plumbing Contractors Association; East Central Ohio Mechanical Contractors Association; Lima Area Mechancial Contractors Association; Mechanical Contractors Association of Central Ohio; Mechanical Contractors Association of Cincinnati; Mechanical Contractors Association of Cleveland; Mechanical Contractors Association of Greater Dayton; Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Ohio; Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Greater Cincinnati; Sheet Metal Contractors of Central Ohio; and the Sheet Metal & Roofing Contractors Association of the Miami Valley.

Current Affiliate Association Members are the Mechanical Contractors Association of North Central Ohio.

The MCAO mission is very simple: To represent the industry's best interests in the legislative, agency, and judicial process in Ohio. The MCAO's success is directly tied to the strenght of its membership. Get involved. Keep informed. Please let the MCAO know how we can help make your businesses, and Ohio better.
