Overview

Family Practice Associates was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Foxx in 1983 and has grown to one of the largest family practice groups in Central Kentucky. Today FPA is a group of primary care providers who are dedicated to giving family-centered care from birth to later years. FPA has over 20 primary providers including: physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, and a marriage and family therapist. With a professionally trained staff of CMA’s, receptionists, lab techs and others, FPA provides award winning care that has been recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through the National Commission on Quality Assurance.  FPA works diligently to offer Central Kentucky families enhanced access to medical care at its Hamburg & Brannon Crossing locations as well as online at www.fpalex.com.

Responsibilities

The Practice Administrator will be responsible for the overall management and development of Family Practice Associates of Lexington, PSC (FPA).  Through management personnel, directs, supervises and coordinates the overall operation of the clinical and administrative departments.  This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Family Practice Associates of Lexington.  It is expected that the employee demonstrates behaviors consistent with FPA's core values in support of FPA's strategic plan.

  • Overall - must demonstrate competence in leadership, communication, professionalism, organizational and analytical skills, and technical/professional skills and knowledge in performance of duties and responsibilities of a medical practice executive.
  • Interpersonal - Development and maintenance of effective relationship with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.  Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Skill in preparation and presentation of reports to board/shareholders.  Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
  • Critical Thinking - Planning (strategic and short-term) and organizing. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making. Skill in analysis, development of comprehensive reports and interpretation of complex data. Ability to set priorities and avoid crises management
  • Knowledge -  Organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives. Fiscal     management and human resource management techniques. Health care administration, including managed care administration. Governmental regulations and compliance requirements.  Computer systems and applications

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in health or business administration, Masters Degree preferred
  • CMPE or FACMPE in the American College of Medical Practice Executives preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience in an ambulatory setting.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, etc)
  • Excellent leadership skills, time management, delegation, and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of finance accounting and budgeting.  QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Skill in preparation and presentation of reports to board/shareholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability, independent judgment and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and develop workflow

 

Must be willing to travel between locations (Hamburg and Brannon Crossing)
