Letter from the President
The Louisiana chemical industry is more than a collection of companies. It’s a collection of people. More than 27,000 chemical industry employees not only work in the communities their companies call home – they live there, too. Our member companies’ employees want the same things their neighbors want: safe and clean neighborhoods, good schools, and a strong economy, just to name a few.
Our industry touches the lives of people around the globe with the products it produces and enhances – from the nitrogen in potato chip bags that extend shelf life, to pacemakers that aid ailing hearts, to stronger golf clubs. The list is long and ever growing!
LCA member companies take their cues about what it means to be good neighbors from local residents. Louisiana Chemical Association member companies work side by side with communities to make them better. Make no mistake, LCA member companies exhibit good neighbor values when addressing the issues that affect their communities the most – environment, health and safety, security, workforce development and community relations. When the economy is stimulated in ways that encourages innovation and job creation, ways to expand the tax base, and reward – not penalize – success, the ultimate winner is the public – our neighbors.
I hope this website provides you with more than just facts and figures about our industry. We hope you get a glimpse at how Louisiana’s chemical companies not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk – when it comes to being good neighbors.
Gregory M. Bowser, President
Louisiana Chemical Association
