RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet with families, arrange and direct funerals and services of all types.
- Work with fellow employees, outside agencies, government offices, and vendors to coordinate services, order merchandise and schedule burials.
- Embalm, dress, cosmetize and casket the deceased.
- Adhere to all company policies, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Utilize general office equipment including computer, fax machine, phone system and security system.
- Utilize basic software programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, EDRS and ASD.
- Operate all funeral home vehicles.
- Assist in all other tasks associated with the funeral home and our services.
EDUCATION
- Degree in Mortuary Science from an accredited college or university
- Current State of Michigan Mortuary Science License or the ability to reciprocate license from another state
EXPERIENCE
- 1+ years as a Funeral Director/Embalmer
- Computer skills and use of software, including but not limited to scanning, editing, printing, and Microsoft Word.
