Canadian Farm Builders Association
The Canadian Farm Builders Association (CFBA) was established in 1980 by a group of farm building contractors who recognized the need for uniformity and standards within the farm building industry. Today, our membership encompasses a diverse range of stakeholders in both the agricultural and construction sectors, including farm builders, engineers, building officials, insurance representatives, and suppliers of products and services that support farm building.
The CFBA is committed to:
- Fostering safety, knowledge, sustainability, and fairly earned success for our members
- Promoting and advancing the construction of structurally sound, sustainable, and efficient farm buildings across Canada
- Representing our members in matters related to legislation, safety, and labor
- Providing networking opportunities and a platform for collaboration among members
In recent years, the complexity of farm buildings has significantly increased. Today's structures are designed to enhance livestock health, conserve energy, and protect the environment. Our members benefit from ongoing educational opportunities, advisory services, and timely communications regarding regulations and best practices.
The CFBA plays an active role in shaping the National Building Code through its Farm Code Advisory Team, which continuously reviews changes to the building code and provides feedback on behalf of our members. We offer updates as they become available and serve as a valuable resource for inquiries.
Education is a cornerstone of our mission. Each year, the CFBA hosts a conference that allows members to engage with industry professionals on various topics relevant to the agricultural building sector. Additionally, we conduct learning seminars throughout the year to address important issues.
We also recognize the importance of networking within the agricultural industry, which is why we organize an annual golf tournament every September. This event provides a platform for connections and collaboration among industry peers.
