Description: This Tree Talk Tuesday webinar will dive into directional pruning and its benefits regarding trees near utility lines and why the common alternative of topping is a suboptimal control method. Additionally, proper pruning techniques to use during the execution of directional pruning will be discussed.

Presenter: Joseph Moeglin, ODNR Urban Forester

Bio: Joseph Moeglin is the East Central Regional Urban Forester with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry. He has a background of performing work in the utility forestry industry and a familiarity with proper techniques for maintaining proper clearance of trees from utility lines while preserving the health of the trees.
