Susan Bazzoli and Patricia Conkle receive ONMA President's Award
Former Ohio News Media Association Board President Ron Waite recently presented Susan Bazzoli and Patricia Conkle with the ONMA President's Award for their contributions to the Ohio newspaper industry. Both Bazzoli and Conkle retired last year, Bazzoli from ONMA and Conkle from the association's AdOhio affiliate.
Following are their award write-ups:
Susan Bazzoli is presented the Ohio News Media Association’s President’s Award for her years of dedicated service to ONMA members and staff. For 16 years Bazzoli represented the association and its members in a professional manner, setting up logistics for the ONMA’s annual convention and training workshops, serving as a liaison between ONMA’s various committees and association staff, and assisting staff members on a range of issues. Bazzoli is a credit to ONMA and has left a lasting impact on the Ohio newspaper industry.
Patricia Conkle is presented the Ohio News Media Association’s President’s Award for her 35 years of service to AdOhio, the ONMA’s advertising affiliate. Conkle handled order processing along with account payables and receivables as AdOhio’s operations manager, a position where she built and maintained strong relationships between Ohio’s newspapers and advertising clients. She always had the best interests of ONMA member papers and their markets at heart and was constantly available to deal with any issues or problems which might arise. Conkle personified customer service and set the bar high for those who follow.
The ONMA President's Award was inaugurated at the 1976 bicentennial convention of the then-named Ohio Newspaper Association to honor and recognize those who have made lasting contributions to the state's newspaper industry.
