Through a variety of programs and services, the OFCA provides education and professional development, legislative advocacy, communication and information exchange, and peer networking opportunities throughout the year. Through the work of its dedicated board of directors and committee volunteers and professional staff, OFCA continually focuses on being the premier fire and emergency services organization in the state of Ohio. About the Position
The Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association is looking for an energetic, organized, and resourceful candidate to join our team as the Director of Educational Services. Responsibilities
-Seminars and Educational Programs
- Work with the Education Committee to develop educational programs
- Coordinate with program chairs for potential seminars and programs
- Handle preparation of seminars and programs, including class materials, travel, and lodging arrangements
- Advertise potential seminars and programs
-Membership Communications
- Create and distribute a weekly email blast
- Create a quarterly newsletter for membership
- Social media postings
- Website and database maintenance
- Committees
- Attend and participate in committee meetings
-Other duties, as assigned
Skill Requirements and Professional Qualities
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Exceptional communication skills and organizational skills
- Proficiency working with databases and basic budgets
- Knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Capacity to work, research, and brainstorm ideas both independently and cooperatively
- Essential qualities: dependable, punctual, resourceful, detailed orientated, adaptable, friendly, and possesses professional attitude and appearance
- Previous association or not-for-profit sector experience is a plus
The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000, based on experience. OFCA also offers health insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and a retirement plan.
