Appalachia Forward Forms Connections to Uplift Appalachian Areas

Collaboration is needed to drive success in the region

On Oct. 5, 2022, the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service at Ohio University held its second annual Appalachia Forward conference, bringing together local elected officials and development staff to discuss planning, funding, and transformative change for the Appalachian region.

The conference was held at Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center and was also livestreamed.

The event was co-partnered by the Voinovich School, the Ohio Governor's Office for Appalachia, Buckeye Hills Regional Council, Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association, Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission and Eastgate Regional Council of Governments.
