Ohio Department of Taxation Announces Semi-annual Sales Tax Returns Are Due Jan. 23, 2025

The Ohio Department of Taxation's new OH|TAX eServices platform offers new features that improve usability, enhance security, and simplify the filing process.

The July-December 2024 semi-annual sales tax return is due by Jan. 23, 2025. The agency encourages employers to log in early through the Ohio Business Gateway at gateway.ohio.gov to explore its new platform to prepare them for a smooth filing experience.

Here's what employers need to know:

1. Multi-Factor Authentication: To better protect your account, multi-factor authentication is now required when accessing the Ohio Business Gateway.
2. Payment Information Update Required: Prior payment information will not carry over to the new system. Please enter your payment details when using OH|TAX eServices for the first time. After entering it, you can securely save the information for quicker payments in the future.
