In 2008, Kevin Body was lost.

After several years serving in various fire departments in Washington and Colorado, he received a promotion to the training division. There was only one problem: He had no idea what he was supposed to do.

"I didn't receive any expectations or guidelines from my boss," Body told me. "I had no experience in the role, and I didn't get much from my predecessor. I had to figure it out on my own."
