ASA Recognizes Jarrod Clabaugh, CAE with its 2025 President's Award

Clabaugh led the fight among state leaders to defend nonprofits' tax status and community service

Clabaugh Receives ASA President's Award from ASA Executive Director Grant CarpenterOn August 9, 2025, during its annual meeting, which was held this year in Los Angeles, the Association Societies Alliance (ASA) recognized Jarrod A. Clabaugh, CAE, president & CEO of the Ohio Society of Association Professionals, with its 2025 ASA President’s Award. This distinguished recognition celebrates Clabaugh's exceptional dedication, service and leadership within ASA and the broader association community.

Annually, the ASA President's Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates outstanding commitment to advancing the work of state and regional associations and exemplifies the values of leadership, collaboration and service.

The organization recognized Clabaugh for:

  • His steadfast leadership and involvement in ASA initiatives, including the CAE Navigation program that helps association professionals pursue their Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation
  • His active participation across countless ASA strategic initiatives, always stepping up to support the alliance's strategic priorities
  • His recent influence and advocacy around federal tax reform, providing critical insight and support to help association leaders navigate the evolving landscape
  • His unwavering dedication to the ASA community and commitment to strengthening the voice of state-based association professionals nationwide

"Jarrod is a leader who shows up — not just when it's easy, but especially when it matters most," said Angela Kisskeys, 2023-2025 chair of ASA, and president of Associations North. "His ability to inspire collaboration, drive action and lead with humility makes him a true asset to our profession and this association. We're honored to recognize his contributions with the President’s Award."

"It was such a great honor and surprise to receive this award from my peers," said Clabaugh, who served as the organization's representative on the ASAE Community Impact Coalition. "We've had a year of great achievements for our members, and our combined voice aided in protecting them from several severe tax threats."

ASA is a collaborative network comprised of state and regional societies of association executives dedicated to advancing the profession of association management. Through shared knowledge, collective action and strong peer relationships, ASA strengthens the leadership capacity and influence of associations across the nation and globe. The organization represents more than 4,000 associations and nonprofit organizations in the United States and New Zealand. Clabaugh served as the chair of the organization in 2022-2023 and then as immediate past-chair for a two-year term that concluded in August 2025.
