From the Desk of the Membership Chair
Dr. Flo Weierbach, Associate Professor, East Tennessee State University
What a wonderful time we all had at the Annual Institute. It was so nice to see the return of the in-person conference while having a virtual option. The sessions were awesome and definitely created a fire burning in many of us to advocate for our specialty. As new challenges are present from accreditation to NCLEX it is more important than ever to have Community Health Nurse educators who have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to teach this content. Recently I followed an AACN discussion on how to teach Social Justice-who better than us to demonstrate how to teach Social Justice content to all our students from undergraduate pre-licensure to doctoral students, both DNP and PhD. So the membership committee is calling on all members to pass the word to your colleagues in and outside of your school about the many benefits of being an ACHNE member. We know the value but do others? Do you have new faculty at your school teaching this content, do you have a Director or Dean who does not quite get this content-share with them our website, and talk with them about membership at the individual and institutional level. Talk to them about the many resources available to ACHNE members and how it has helped you to be an effective scholar.
If you have questions about membership, reach out to your regional Member-at-Large.
